SARRP, an image-guided small animal proton and x-ray research system, enables in vivo investigations of radiobiological effects of proton beams and comparative studies between proton and x-ray beams. This is the first system capable of delivering SOBP from a cyclotron in clinical use combined with a commercial SARRP for x-ray irradiation.
